I spent 25 years in the automotive industry as a sales rep/closing manager/financial consultant/sales manager/team leader. I traveled the country to a different city every week honoring contracts between marketing companies and dealerships. I raised my son as a single father, and before I knew it he was all grown up, so I decided to change my career path to one where I could work from home. I got into doing storage auctions and it was quite successful. I bought several different storage units out and found all kinds of interesting things, rare artifacts, precious jewelry, antiques etc. After the tax season passed, I had a mountain of stuff I wanted to set fire to, as it was not something that was a sense of urgency to sell, and therefore was not supportive of my life style, much less conducive to a greater lifestyle. At that point I thought I was going to have to go back into the automotive business when it hit me. Every time I win an auction that has appliances in it, the appliances seem to sell right away. Turns out that appliances are something that people need, not necessarily something that people want. So I gave away all the things that I had acquired of the previous couple years of storage auction and started over again with nothing but appliances. Three years ago I started in the back of Tabs Flea Market in Greer in a 6 x 12 unit and a handful of used appliances. Over the following year I grew to the size of the flea market and expanded it into an entire appliance business.
